How do I request a service agreement?
Click one of the booking options above to open a Service Agreement and secure your dates. For custom requests, contact us directly.
What does the day rate include?
The day rate covers the services of a certified professional for up to 10 hours, providing on-set medical or water safety services, as well as essential equipment, as specified in the service details.
Are your medics and lifeguards certified?
All medics hold NREMT or higher certifications, and all lifeguards are certified through the American Red Cross or equivalent agencies. Every provider is thoroughly screened and experience-verified.
What is the difference between a Closed-Body Lifeguard and an Open-Body Lifeguard?
Closed-body lifeguards work in controlled water environments (pools, water parks, on-set tanks) with still or minimally moving water and defined boundaries.
Open-water lifeguards work in natural bodies of water (oceans, lakes, rivers) where currents, tides, waves, and varying depths require specialized swift-water rescue and survival training.
If you’re unsure which type you need, we can help determine the best fit based on your location and risk factors.

Do you provide medics for productions traveling to multiple locations or working in remote areas?
Yes. For multi-city shoots or remote locations, we often recommend a dedicated travel medic who travels with your crew, ensuring consistent coverage and smoother logistics.
Do you have female medics and lifeguards available?
Our roster includes women medics and lifeguards nationwide. EmpowHER Set Medic specializes in providing highly skilled female professionals for productions requiring women on set.
Do you offer half-day rates?
Yes. A 5-hour half-day rate is available. If the booking exceeds 5 hours, it automatically converts to the full 10-hour day rate. See above for current rates.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible—especially for multi-day shoots or high-demand locations. We require at least 48 hours to confirm availability outside most major cities. Last-minute requests may incur a rush fee.
Can I book a lifeguard and medic together?
Yes. We offer a Set Medic/Lifeguard combo for pool-only productions needing both services.
Why are meal breaks not excluded from billed hours?
Our rates cover consecutive hours worked, including meal/rest breaks, because medics remain available throughout. If you need an off-the-clock break, they’ll be unavailable to respond until it’s over.
What is the cancellation policy?
• Cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled hold date incur a 50% kill fee.
• Cancellations within 24 hours incur a 100% kill fee.
• Cancellations within 24 hours incur a 100% kill fee.
How is overtime calculated?
Overtime is billed for any hours beyond the 10-hour day rate, in 30-minute increments. Time is measured from call time to dismissal, including breaks.
What are the terms for the multi-day booking discount?
The discount applies to full 10-hour bookings in two brackets (6–10 days at 5%, 11–20 days at 10%), cannot be combined with other offers, and applies to labor only.
Are there additional fees for last-minute bookings?
Yes—a $100 urgent-request admin fee applies for bookings made with less than 24 hours’ notice. Availability is not guaranteed.
Do you charge for travel outside the studio zone?
Yes—additional travel fees apply based on distance and travel time.
Do medics provide their own equipment?
Yes—every medic arrives with a basic medical kit included in the rate. Extra equipment is available for an additional fee.
Is a deposit required to secure a booking?
No deposit is required, but a signed Service Agreement is needed to confirm your booking.
What payment methods do you accept?
Bank transfers, credit cards, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Wrapbook, Greenslate, Bill.com, and mailed checks (some methods may include fees).
Can I request a specific medic or lifeguard?
You can request a specific provider, but availability isn’t guaranteed. We do our best to accommodate based on scheduling and location.
